Recent Debuts (18th Birthday Parties) by Wonderful Occasions

First there was AJ who had a traditional 18th birthday party with the all the works— gowns and suits and the 18 Roses, 18 Candles, and 18 Treasures—-held at the Makati Palace Hotel. The color motif was red, and the young lady looked stunning in her red ballgown. Here’s AJ with the Wonderful Occasions team:
Gabi turned 18 next and her party had an interesting theme—carnival! For the first two hours of the party there were food booths, game booths (ring toss and balloon popping), a fortune-teller, an open bar, and delicious cocktail food. After the guests enjoyed their time at the “carnival” Gabi entered the Makati Sports Club function hall in a parade with her 18 Jesters and 18 Harlequins.
Kass was next and this lady loves blue and purple, so she had a masquerade party with those two as the dominant colors. Tables were decorated with masks, feathers, flowers, and blue and purple pebbles. Kass had the traditional 18th Birthday party at Ibarra’s Garden in Manila.
Joyce had a rocking R&B 18th birthday party at 1Esplanade in Pasay. The debutante started the show by doing a dance number with her 18 “Homies” who all presented her with a rose at the end of the dance—-such a great twist to the traditional 18 Roses waltz. Guests came in R&B attire and guess what, the Stars of the Night (the best dressed) are a grandma and a baby!

Wedding Inspiration Board: Origami
16 Aug 2011 Leave a Comment
I have developed an obsession with an origami bridal bouquet and I even went as far as contacting the Philippine Orgami Association just to find somebody who could make something like it, and to know how much it would cost. With skill and patience, and of course plenty of time, an origami-themed DIY wedding can be possible. I’m thinking of origami bouquets and buttonierres, origami centerpieces, orgami escort cards, favors in origami boxes, and origami incorporated into the invitations. And if you can accomplish the proverbial thousand origami crane, then they would be perfect as your ceremony or couple’s table backdrop:

Wedding Venue: Macopa Apartelle in Las Pinas City
27 Jun 2011 1 Comment
I found this nice, newly-built apartelle in Las Pinas City which is a perfect venue for a small wedding party of about 75-100 guests.
They have affordable suites which can be the dress-up venue for the bride and groom. Their one-bedroom suites cost Php1650, and the two bedroom suites costs Php2,650 for a day.
The Macopartel Party and Events place can be rented for 12 hours for only Php3,750. For that amount, you can get:
* Indoor function room: 2 air conditioners, wall fans, toilet for male & female
* Outdoor space: tiled, enclosed with high concrete wall, usable even on rainy days
* Internet access WIFI
* Cable TV, Sound System / Party Music / Videoke
* White Board / Audio Visual Board ( 48″ x 72″ )
* Drinking Water with Hot and Cold Water Dispenser
* Convenient , ample parking space
* Long Tables and Monobloc Chairs , upon prior arrangement
Here are some pictures of events there:
This outdoor area can be a good ceremony venue for non-Catholic weddings:
Then the reception can be held indoors:
Having one venue for the wedding preparations, ceremony, and reception, is a good way to save on transportation costs.

Because of my fascination with my officemates’ origami pieces, I tried learning simple pieces myself. There are many kinds of origami flowers and lookey lookey:
