Wedding Inspiration Board: Origami

I have developed an obsession with an origami bridal bouquet and I even went as far as contacting the Philippine Orgami Association just to find somebody who could make something like it, and to know how much it would cost. With skill and patience, and of course plenty of time, an origami-themed DIY wedding can be possible. I’m thinking of origami bouquets and buttonierres, origami centerpieces, orgami escort cards, favors in origami boxes, and origami incorporated into the invitations. And if you can accomplish the proverbial thousand origami crane, then they would be perfect as your ceremony or couple’s table backdrop:

Wedding Inspiration Board 4: Black and Purple

A friend had asked me if black and purple would look good together for a wedding, and honestly I thought they wouldn’t. But check out these photos gathered from the internet—–black and purple wedding WIN!

I’m thinking purple wedding shoes and a purple bouquet for the bride, the groom in all black plus a purple tie, groomsmen in all black, and bridesmaids in purple with light-colored bouquets.

I’m thinking black table cloths and purple chair accents, plus white flowers so they will stand out.

I’m thinking dark-colored cupcakes and purple frosting.

Purple wedding invitations with bold, black writing.

In black envelopes.

And ube. Lots and lots of homemade halayang ube. :-)

Wedding Inspiration Board 3: Nature

The La Mesa Ecopark in Quezon City can be a wedding reception venue with a number of pavillions available for rent. With a wedding celebration amidst the lush greenery, I couldn’t help but put together a nature-themed wedding for environment-loving couples out there:

A leaf thumbprint guestbook, green wedding shoes, lucky bamboo plants as souvenirs, and leaf-shaped chocolates! Love ‘em!  Wedding invitations with leaves or trees, or those made out of recycled paper, contribute to the central theme.

Anyway, here are La Mesa Ecopark’s pavillions if you’re interested:

Wedding Inspiration Board 2: Scrabble

I am one of those people with a fondness for scrabble so I had a great time compiling  photos of little “scrabble details” in weddings to put together this inspiration board:

I have a well-loved scrabble board which I want to keep, but I’m very sure I can buy a cheap scrabble set in places like Uniwide Warehouses and I can use the tiles for table place cards. I really love this idea:

Wedding Inspiration Board 1: Sunflowers

On one cheesy moment I told the boyfriend he was like a Plants. vs. Zombies sunflower in my life. He then proceeded swaying left and right, bobbing his head, humming the PvZ theme. We had a good laugh and I changed my mind about what my favorite flower was—goodbye purple tulips.

In weddings roses and tulips are often used, and calla lillies and gaining popularity. Why not sunflowers? I put together this inspiration board for a sunflower-themed wedding:

Sunflower yellow and chocolate brown seem to be a good color combination. Sunflowers and purple look good, too.
